Formats — Alchemy

Alchemy is a rotating Constructed format for Magic: The Gathering Arena.

It follows Standard format, but it adds digital only cards.

Alchemy used to rebalance paper cards for Arena as well, and those rebalanced versions replaced the originals here and in Historic. Arena reverted every one of them to its paper printing on 22 September 2026.

Alchemy: Reality Fracture is the last Alchemy set, and the format itself is retired on 2 February 2027 with the 2027 Standard rotation. The digital only cards stay on Arena, legal in Historic, Timeless, Brawl, and Competitive Brawl.
